Math skills are highly valued in business today and well into the future. Show this Kid Scoop page to businesses that want to promote math competency in young learners, their future employees. Their business logo will be published at the bottom of the Kid Scoop page where parents, children, teachers, and business leaders will see their commitment to math education.

Math achievement scores are lagging. You can check your state and local school district scores at Public School Review. Support local teachers in their efforts to keep children gaining skills in mathematics. Kid Scoop pages offer math vocabulary puzzles that spark children’s curiosity using your newspaper. In the “Count the Numbers” activity, children choose a page from your newspaper and count all the numbers on the page. The “Standards Link” connected to this activity is a required teaching skill.

Katherine G. Johnson’s hard work and determination with math took her to work with John Glenn when he first orbited the earth in 1962 and later when he was on the Apollo space flights. Connect the children in your circulation area with the excitement of math.
